Health insurance policies differ widely in their benefits and coverage. Within any single health insurance company, numerous plans may be offered, each with different benefits. The complexity of benefits makes it impossible for our staff to be familiar with every plan. We encourage families to familiarize themselves with their plan’s specific coverage and limitations.

Please remember that your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company; we are not a party to that contract.

There may be times when we recommend a course of treatment that is not covered by your particular insurance company. If you like, we are happy to discuss alternative options and courses of treatment. However, please remember that our primary commitment is to provide the best medical care for your child.

As a result of the COVID pandemic and limitations in office visits, we are providing more telemedicine, including video visits, phone calls, and portal messaging. Please understand that as a consequence, together with the Governors’ Executive Orders of March, 2020, there will be times when such visits and consultations will be billed to your insurance company. It is impossible for us to know the details of each company’s policies, so please reach out to your insurance company if you have any questions or concerns about insurance coverage. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
